World GBC Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment Signs on Seven New Companies

The World Green Building Council (WorldGBC)  announced seven companies as signatories to its Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment for taking ambitious action to combat climate change by committing to decarbonise both their operational and embodied emissions.  These seven companies include CannonDesign, GI Quo Vadis, Gradb, Lamington Group, and QIC Real Estate (QICRE) including Major multinational and Advancing Net Zero Programme partner, Schneider Electric and Germany’s leading bank Deutsche Bank.

135 organisations, 28 cities and six states and cities make for 169 signatories. 7.2 million annual portfolio emissions, 20,000 assets and more than $415 annual turnover are the sum total result of the business and organisations of the signatories.

As a part of the new programme, they will maximise the reduction of carbon emissions in the built environment, new developments and renovations by 2030. The businesses are proving to be pioneers by reducing emissions for assets over which they have direct control.

The World Green Building Council are a global action network with around 70 Green Building Councils around the world. They are members of the UN Global Compact and work towards creating net-zero carbon, healthy and resilient built environments in the building industry.
