Tucked away in New Delhi’s bustling landscape, The House of Karmah is a seamless blend of quiet luxury and mindful design. Conceptualized by Design Consortia, the 1100 sq. ft. retail space embraces a refined material palette and a detail-driven aesthetic, shaping an immersive shopping experience that aligns with the brand’s ethos.

With a linear layout and a need for high visibility from MG Road, the design team introduced a layered spatial narrative—a cozy seating area, strategically placed mirrors, and an influencer’s booth with a suspended swing (jhoola) break the monotony while drawing in natural movement. An elegantly designed external signage ensures the store’s presence commands attention from the street.


Inside, a sequence of curved, flowing spaces enhances connectivity, making the most of the compact footprint. At the entrance, a sculpted reception desk establishes the tone with its soft edges and muted palette. Fluted walls discreetly conceal storage, while arches, niches, and mirrors lend an effortless elegance to the interiors.


Materiality plays a pivotal role in defining the store’s understated opulence. Textured walls in muted peach and beige are punctuated by dull gold fixtures and voguish wall moulding, crafting a warm, sophisticated ambiance. A central metal screen subtly demarcates different sections, while ceiling-suspended hanger spaces add sculptural intrigue. The seamless flooring acts as a neutral canvas, allowing the textures and forms to shine.

Lighting design is intentionally layered—ambient, focused, and decorative elements interplay to create a dynamic, immersive retail setting. A down-lit terrazzo flooring platform beneath the arches enhances the boutique’s luxurious appeal. Integrated branding elements are woven subtly into the interiors, ensuring a cohesive visual language without overpowering the merchandise. Meanwhile, the ceiling-height mirrored show window, framed in metal, extends spatial depth and drama to the exterior.

Beyond aesthetics, The House of Karmah champions eco-conscious design, aligning with the brand’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. A testament to how retail can be as experiential as it is refined, the space redefines luxury—one thoughtful detail at a time.
