As every member of the family is a  member of the family business, it gave a deep brief of the feel of home coming from the workstation and how it should bring the feeling of belongingness.

“The realness of an Indian household peeks through with unmitigated honesty at this residence. For us as a design studio, this space has enabled us to push the envelope and transcend our signature fluidic and uber-contemporary design style. We’ve been able to make the space’s DNA ours, while staying tethered to the family’s vision. The resultant design scheme is something we feel elated about conceptualising as it recalibrates the diversity of our offerings as a design studio,” shares Bhavsar and Ajmera.

The client had a coherent brief, a reflection of their personality and so their spaces needed to inculcate the aura from their personalities. A crisp and timeless Mid- Century design striked to the senses and fetched an array of boundless inspirations for the Principal Designers.

“I think what has made this design journey more promising is that despite it being a home seamed together with an eye for detail and impeccable artisanship, it is a raw space that celebrates evolution and the sentiment of being a work-in-progress. It is unfinished in the light of steering clear of finality, allowing the family members to etch their mark of individuality as one traverses the spaces overruled by a sense of childlike curiosity,” adds Shivani.

The vital role of a material, cohorting a variety of finishes that exuberates the versatility of the design and its owners. Classic french mouldings, marble, and contemporary textured upholstery that creates a brinking well of endless possibilities.

“The idea was to engage detailed intricacies into the designed framework without letting the space come across as austere. We aimed to bring about a homely disposition by gravitating towards materiality that anchors serenity and earthiness while endowing the space with a transitional character,” explains Disha.

The floor layout of the nuclei, brims up a sun-lit nook with the guiding hues of in the melange of spaces. The foyer at the beginning of the space is not defined space unlike the spaces but is crisply addressed with a wood and cane console that has been rest on sleeky black metal members quietly adapting the privacy for the adjoining space. The grid of the classic moulding creates a sense of dynamism with the visual sense of continuation. A chandelier by The Hesperus cascades in the middle part of the confluencing spaces layers the aesthetics of the space overall.

The voluminous floor plan encompasses the formal living space decked in the subtle hues of neutral colour furniture by Tianu fusing with deep blues exemplifying the contemporary character of the space. The precisely pickled upholstery in motifs and print pattern justifies the contrast state. The carpet depicts the crucial styling fused with a Vibrant colour palette. The coffee table is an indigenous outlook of the warm tones of wood complimenting the cane TV console. A monogram of family photographs in monochromatic hues takes us back to a nostalgic trip.

The dual toned chairs with the marble table top is an ingenious contrast of tonality. Concealed from the semi private spaces, a fluted glass door with grooved wooden doors. A retreat to the senses, the master suite is emblematic of minimalism and all things Zen. “The celebrated deep blue hue is a favorite of the lady of the home and makes a cameo here and pairs serendipitously with the overarching presence of whites. We have let the limited scheme of colours and the natural light in the room come together to concoct magic,” adds Disha.

The vintage styled nightstands in woods flanks back Parisian blue bed gauging a background filled with calming aura. A gigantic chequered fabric armchair creates a heavenly corner by the scenic windows. “The name of this dwelling invents a melange of visions in the mind, each abstract yet harmoniously stitched together. It represents what families are at the end of the day; they are imperfectly perfect, constantly morphing, emotional entities that accord us with our sense of belonging. The weaves of affection, laughter, space, and conversations wind around each other in a tight embrace to form a larger-than-life picture that allows a family to find their bearings in the present while inking away a newfound chapter for tomorrow,” concludes the Principal Designers.
