Fine Lines, an interior design firm set three decades ago has become a synonym for every kind of luxury interior design solutions. Founders Sunil & Sangeeta’s credible experience over the years has brought the firm amongst the forefront names in the design industry.
Situated in the lush green lanes of the elite Nepean Sea road in South Mumbai, this 3.5 BHK abode was taken as part of redesigning their own space which they designed 20 years back. As most of the furniture pieces were salvageable, they decided to reuse these pieces with maximum detailing and with minimum carbon footprint. The entrance was designed in a manner to cope up with the new design brief which included a shoe rack. The rustic textured with a wooden rattan shutter carved with brass inlays acts as cover as well as ventilation to the distribution board.
The living area has been completely transformed into a chic European style design that has Indian elements which are art sourced from a gallery in Delhi ‘art motif’. However the other furniture pieces have been picked from local stores like The great eastern home, fusion access, primo. The bar becomes an interesting feature element as it is handcrafted in metal jali and stained glass. On the other hand the balcony has been taken into the space and enclosed to make the living area more spacious and viable. This bespoke design was completed in the span of 45 days. Moving to the bedroom, a similar transition-like living area has been incorporated in the design to achieve a seamless look with the existing Diana marble.
A hidden storage has been designed behind the mirror which was created by wall paneling that has helped to achieve symmetry with the wall on the left. The flowered wall mural by the Address home has been highlighted with a dark paint around that creates a niche behind the bed. The bathroom finished in mosaic and vitrified tiles has been partially refurbished.
Considering the growth of the family, the 3 bhk has been converted into 3.5 bhk by dividing one room into two. A compact powder bathroom has been designed to keep the space comfortable enough to be used as a bedroom. The passage has a service duct that has been precisely covered in a fabric panel with a decorative brass plate.
