Angulakshmi of Studio Mage, the project represents a refreshing approach to architecture and interior design. The firm has quickly earned acclaim for its unique creativity and steadfast commitment to client satisfaction, combining practicality with aesthetics in every aspect.
At the heart of ‘Project Karvai’ is the living area, where lush green tones in a limewash texture welcome visitors, reflecting the natural beauty of the surroundings. The TV unit, featuring rattan sandwiched drawers, harmonizes with the ambiance, while wooden rafters lend warmth to the ceiling. A standout element is a 150-year-old door, rich with sentimental value, which serves as a centerpiece alongside custom-made teak furniture and a vintage trunk box repurposed as a coffee table, sourced from an antique heirloom shop.
The dining area pays tribute to traditional concepts with its exposed brick wall and arched design. Personalized black-and-white photo frames, showcasing vintage family photos, add a touch of personal history and create a seamless blend of past and present.
In the master bedroom, sophistication reigns with a greyish-blue theme and limewash-textured walls, complemented by wooden teak beadings. The room features fabric-covered glass wardrobe shutters and carefully crafted teak beds, enhanced by vintage pieces from antique stores that lend a timeless elegance.
The secondary bedroom embraces a minimalist design, featuring a mix of greys, whites, and wood accents. A 55-year-old poster bed from the client’s family heirloom collection stands as the room’s focal point, accompanied by subtle grey cement limewash walls and minimal wooden veneer paneling.
The study room bursts with vibrant peach hues, creating an eclectic and functional workspace. With minimal carpentry and strategic color use, the room offers a bright, inspiring environment that caters to the client’s desire for a clutter-free space.
