World’s Biggest Cricket Ground “Narendra Modi Stadium”

Located in Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, renamed stadium “Narendra Modi Stadium is inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovid today. The occasion was graced with the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah and Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju among a host of other dignitaries.

The Stadium is built by Larsen & Turbo (L&T) company, which is spread over 63 acres, with a seating capacity of 1.10 lakh people. With a total of 11 clay pitches of six red and five black soils, the pitch has a special feature to be dried in only 30 minutes.

The stadium has an innovative feature of a 360-degree podium concourse at a height of 9 meters that eases the movement of spectators, as well as provides a uniform view to the spectators from any stand.

A special 150-ton air-cooling tower is developed to maintain the closed air portion of the stadium fully air-conditioned and corporate boxes have a seating capacity of 25 each. With huge dressing rooms created for both teams, the stadium also has a special lounge built near the players and a VIP entrance.

The Autograph Gallery at the stadium showcases the autographed bat collection of players from the teams of IPL and World Cup matches played so far and The “Hall of Fame”, featuring photographs of world-renowned cricketers are the center attraction of the stadium.

Completed in a short span of two years, the stadium is a place for cricket lovers to experience and feel the stadium.
