Salone del Mobile.Milano’s 60th edition happening from June 7-12, 2022

Restarting, adapting, sustainability, ecological transition and the future of living are the prime themes to be addressed at Milan Design Week 2022

The 60th edition of the furniture fair Salone del Mobile.Milano which was supposed to be organized in April 2022 is now scheduled for June 2022 from 7th June to 12th June. The decision was taken in agreement with Fiera Milano by the Board of Federlegno Arredo Eventi considering the importance of this year’s event. It is a celebration of designers, architects, companies, and creatives’ involvement and working in sustainable design.

Succeeding a successful and insightful event last year, called Supersalone, the fair is back with a contemporary and sustainable approach in designing to take place at Fiera Milano Rho in Italy. The event is the opening of the President of the Salone del Mobile Maria Porro together with the Mayor of Milan Beppe Sala. 

It is the biggest and most awaited Interior Design event running for over 50 years now and was initiated in 1961 for promoting Italian furniture and furnishings. It houses more than 2000 exhibitors occupying the whole 200 thousand sqm area of the exhibition center. The event Salone del Mobile showcases innovative goods and solutions for contemporary living that is interwoven with technology, sustainability, and flexibility.

Salone del Mobile aims to act as a real driver of change with commitment, transparency, and honesty as the key policies. The goal is intended to be achieved through a focus on quality maintenance and curating a connected system of designers, people, players involved, and activities happening throughout the event. All the activities will be monitored and measured scientifically by the exhibition organizers.

Attracting 370,000 professional visitors each year with 70% of the total coming from other countries. The President of the Salone del Mobile Maria Porro says that postponing the event might provide exhibitors, journalists, visitors to make the most of this event and ensure their presence that has been the Usp of the event over the years. The participants will get time to prepare for the event as the conceptualization to installation process takes a lot of time and brace themselves for creativity and curiosity-packed event.

The Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, and Workplace3.0 have planned varying pathways to portray well-researched products, of high quality and highly customizable. At EuroCucina and the International Bathroom Exhibition, the proposed look will narrate the evolution of these spaces and discuss solutions to optimize water and energy consumption. The focus keywords will be vision, evolution, technology, multi-sector and cross-cutting at S.Project exhibiting different design products and technical and aesthetic interior solutions. 

Salone Satellite will revolve around the theme-designing for our future selves throwing light on inclusive design, comfort, movement, ease of use, and safety for all. FTK( Technology For the Kitchen) is coming with innovations in domestic appliances marking a change in the designing of Smart Kitchens towards an efficient and sustainable alternative.
