Located in the vibrant city of Faridabad, Ethereal House stands as a shining example of modern contemporary architecture. This exquisite residence, designed by the esteemed architect Raavish Malhotra of Raavish Malhotra Design & Associates, is a tribute to the majestic Baobab Tree, also known as Kalpavriksha. Built for a prominent doctor family, Ethereal House seamlessly marries nature-inspired aesthetics with functional luxury.

The name “Ethereal House” encapsulates the spirit of the design—light, airy, and transcendent. Drawing from the Baobab Tree’s symbolism of resilience, longevity, and a deep connection to nature, the design echoes these qualities through its architectural features, establishing a profound link between the natural environment and contemporary living.
Ethereal House is situated on a unique L-shaped plot, formed by merging three 500-square-yard plots, creating a vast and distinct layout. The front section spans nearly 100 feet in width, while the rear extends 180 feet in depth. This unusual shape provided the opportunity for an innovative design approach that maximizes space and natural light.

The orientation of the house is carefully planned to optimize comfort and energy efficiency. Key spaces, including the kitchen, master bedrooms, and the main staircase, are located on the East side, ensuring they receive ample morning sunlight while being protected from the harsh afternoon sun. The open floor plan enhances natural ventilation, a vital feature in Faridabad’s warm and humid climate.
The façade of Ethereal House is a striking homage to the Baobab Tree. A leaf-patterned screen graces the exterior, serving both as a shading device and a privacy screen. This design element not only shields the east-facing staircase from direct sunlight but also offers privacy from the main road, contributing to the house’s serene and secluded atmosphere.

The grand entrance porch, featuring a towering solid teakwood door, sets the stage for the elegance within. The use of white marble floors alongside teakwood doors creates a captivating visual contrast, with the marble’s reflective quality keeping the interior cool and luminous throughout the day.
Upon entering Ethereal House, one is greeted by a sense of expansiveness and fluidity. The double-height living room, with its generous dimensions, exudes openness and grandeur. This space flows seamlessly into the dining room and informal lobby, which includes a pool table, making it a versatile area for both relaxation and entertainment.
A standout feature of the interior is the Zen garden, located in the informal living lobby. Bathed in southern sunlight, this tranquil garden serves as a visual and experiential connection to nature, allowing light to filter through all floors and integrating greenery into the living spaces.

The open floor plan ensures effortless movement throughout the house. The first floor features a lobby overlooking the lush lawn, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor spaces. This design choice ensures a continuous connection between the home and its natural surroundings.
Ethereal House is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities that enhance comfort and functionality. These include advanced lighting automation, a Jacuzzi, a terrace garden, a home theatre, and a terrace bar on the top floor, which offers panoramic views of the party lawn on the north-west side of the property.
Sustainability is at the heart of Ethereal House’s design, with natural ventilation and strategic shading playing key roles in energy efficiency. The white marble floors, besides their aesthetic appeal, also help cool the interior spaces.

Ethereal House is a testament to the artistry of modern contemporary design, where nature-inspired elements harmonize with luxurious living. Raavish Malhotra’s design pushes the boundaries of traditional architecture, crafting a residence that is as beautiful as it is functional. The thoughtful integration of natural materials, innovative features, and a deep respect for the local climate results in a home that serves as both a sanctuary and a source of inspiration.
With its deep connection to the Baobab Tree, thoughtful adaptation to the local environment, and commitment to modern luxury, Ethereal House stands as a pinnacle of architectural excellence, offering an unparalleled living experience for its inhabitants.
